Welcome to Cornerstone! We’re so glad you’re here. We know finding a church can be tough and you might have questions about us. So, here’s a little bit about us to start:
We’re a Christ-centred, Bible-believing, family-friendly Christian community in Sarnia, Ontario.
We launched in 2012.
We believe that the Christian message about Jesus is good news for the world and brings life and freedom and peace and joy into lives.
What are your services like?
We have two services on Sundays: a more traditional-style one at 9am and a more modern one at 10:30am.
We are an Anglican church (part of the Anglican Network in Canada) and so we use some really rich, traditional prayers in both services.
The music in our 9am service is mostly classic hymns and in our 10:30am is a mix of more modern songs with guitar and other instruments.
When you arrive you can sit anywhere. There’s no dress code, so come as casually or formally as you like! After the 10:30 service we have free coffee and snacks and it’s a great time to get to know people a little.
We love kids and welcome families of all shapes and sizes. And we usually have a program for kids at our services.
Who can come?
A lot of people ask us, “can anyone come to your church?” And so, first off, we want to say YES to that. Everyone is welcome at Cornerstone.
You don’t have to be a special kind of person.
You don’t have to have your life together.
You don’t need to know exactly what you believe about God.
You don’t need to have an Anglican background. Or anything like that.
We want our church to be a safe place for anyone to come, be welcomed by caring people, to hear the good news of Jesus Christ preached, and to grow in the knowledge and confidence of God’s love and purposes for them. So, do come!
Our senior pastor (called a “rector” in Anglican terminology) is Rev. Robert Roe. He and his wife and family have been with us at Cornerstone from our launch in 2012.
There are lots of ways you can get involved at Cornerstone. Or you can just come for a bit and check things out! We have Life Groups, which are smaller community groups which meet during the week at people’s homes. We have stuff for youth and kids and seniors. Take a look through our website for more details and if you come out to a service be sure to ask about other ways you might be able to get involved.
If you have any other questions at all, or would just like to chat with a pastor don’t hesitate to contact us. You can get all our details here: Contact Us
